The Lassen National Forest, to provide FOR Friends of The High Lakes has actively developed its draft Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) grant application that was submitted to the State of California on March 1, 2010. The public is invited to comment on any changes or improvements to the program, and to assist with the development of the grant application. The application will be available for public review from March 2, 2010 through April 5, 2010. Final applications are due to the State of California on May 3, 2010.. This grant is for maintenance of ham radio repeater; spill-kit refills; Adopt-A-Trail signs; brochure publication; one permanent rustic picnic table to test at one campsite; gear for weekend eduction and census taking team; chainsaw and safety equipment. Also rock for trail maintenance, solar panel maintenance of the ham radio repeater, personal hygiene kit replacements, fire rings, steel sign posts, and some other items.
